Agate & Fern
Oh my goodness; sit your beautiful bottoms down and open your eyes wide, as we have some absolutely stunning wedding gorgeousness for you to feast on today! If there’s two things we love to see in our inbox at And So To Wed, it’s beauty and bespoke: this definitely has it in buckets. A team of creatives from the South-West of Scotland all got together to showcase exactly what the new and artisan suppliers of the area really could do, and the result was a sumptuous green and gold photoshoot. Drawing on the wonderful partnership of naturals and neutrals with accents of popping metallic, the final product is a masterclass in styling simplicity with maximum impact.
The venue was the stunning Harelaw Farm, in East Ayrshire. We adore the décor of the Ceremony Barn, with seriously cool industrial vibes from the block wall colours, original stone wall and no-messing wooden benches. Adorned with gorgeous swags of light fabric on the roof and around the door, and the picturesque natural lighting, we love how it’s simultaneously a blank canvas and a readymade venue for the über chic couple.
Speaking of the über chic couple, how über chic are this couple? We are loving the muted grey of the groom’s attire, whilst the bride’s dress, from Unbridaled, is suuuuuuper dreamy. Just look at the asymmetric back– is that not the most exquisite detailing? The draped detail and the amazing sheer inserts, flowing into a gorgeous skirt make a perfect and unique dress from all angles.
The reception barn is equally incredible. Again, emphasising the natural rustic beauty of the barn is the name of Harelaw’s game and they’ve done it so well, right down to the gate and hay bales at the back! Natural stone walls, neutral flooring, and wooden trestle tables make for a room full of character, perfect for you to make some amazing memories in. We also love the draped fairy lights, transforming the venue from a beautiful day venue to an even more gorgeous party venue.
Let’s talk styling: the accent colour in this is green, which is often overlooked as a possible wedding theme but absolutely shouldn’t be (and this photoshoot shows exactly why). We hope to see loads more of it considering Greenery is Pantone’s Colour Of The Year – but it’s always been a stylish choice, as this talented team clearly saw ahead of the announcement! The gorgeous bouquet, comprised of a palette of white and different shades of green foliage, is taking boho rustic luxe to the max. We love the impact of the abundance of dark foliage against her dress. Every detail, captured beautifully by the very talented Kellee Quinn Photography.
The foliage continues onto the table, with huge swags of greenery along the wooden trestle tables, huge green ferns under menus, and leaves as place settings. It’s uncomplicated but packs a huge punch, conjuring up images of deep romance that leave us swooning! We love the composition of the tables, breaking up the leaves with candles (just adding more to the romantic vibe) on clear candle stands and hessian table runners. The centrepieces and menus, acrylic signs with flowing white calligraphy, are simply stunning - an incredible nod to the agate trend, which we can’t get enough of and really hope to see more of next year! You may have seen it in the form of a geode cake, but we love this slightly more industrial take on it. Finish the table off with some flashes of gold provided by candles and calligraphy, and what else could you ever wish for?
