Our wedding was held at the stately home Norwood Park, over looking a beautiful lake and strawberry fields in Southwell with the wedding ceremony taking place before at a small village church in Winkburn.
It was a very country affair with a vintage feel. We had bunting in the church and Norwood Park, lots of hessian, bird cages, fresh flowers, bespoke bouquet, headbands with hessian, pearls, buttons and beads, very shabby chic.
Our transport was a white horse drawn carriage pulled by two gorgeous chestnut and bay horses. The carriage was dressed in flowers and ribbons to match the bridesmaids in lilac. For the bridesmaids we had a vintage tractor and trailer dressed with bunting and ribbon in our colour scheme of white, lilac, lemon, sapphire blue and grey. Our transport really fit our country feel wedding.
My dress was a lace off the shoulder gown with a long trail. Very vintage in it's look with ornate flowers scattered around the top and bottom. My husband looked very handsome in his sapphire suit with grey tweed blazer and matching tie and hanky.
At the venue we had Pimms and canapés on arrival with lawn games including croquet, to keep the guests entertained and mingling. We then moved into an old stable block/barn that had been converted into a dinning room and bar. Still keeping its rustic quality, we loved this part of the venue. We had a three course meal followed by speeches, sweet treats, photo booth and four piece band who played the night away. We had a hog roast in the evening and plenty of fizz. It was a truly lively evening with a dance battle or two.
