Rock Stars: Bloody Mary Metal
If you haven’t already met, may we introduce you to Bloody Mary Metal - makers of stunning engagement and wedding rings! Bloody Mary Metal are cutting edge jewellers based on the south coast of Cornwall, handcrafting beautiful pieces in gold and silver. Inspired by Cornish legend and folklore, Bloody Mary pieces are sure to get your hearts racing and your magpie eyes sparkling. On the one hand, Bloody Mary nestle soft blush Morganite stones into 9 carat rose gold hues- the bohemian dream! On the other hand, they epitomise elegance with the much edgier black diamond, set in yellow gold, fit for a queen.
A vast variety of settings and more bling than you can shake a very shiny stick at, the Bloody Mary wedding collection is packed full of pretty. But should you not find something to your taste or perhaps prefer something that is utterly original (as many Bloody Mary Metal brides do), you can contact them to discuss creating you your very own bespoke piece, exactly how you envisage it, with a little Bloody Mary magic thrown in.
Bloody Mary Metal started up five years ago with Owner, Lucy “Tomatoes” Chenoweth, deciding to create the pieces she wanted to wear but could not find in stores. There was a major gap in the market and it soon became clear that Lucy wasn’t the only one who felt as though her personal jewellery collection was lacking in authentic and original designs. Before long, Bloody Mary Metal had emerged, guns blazing, into the jewellery scene, and had a loyal Instagram fanbase (Check out the hashtag #TeamBMM) and an ever growing celebrity following that includes Kylie, Jessie J, Ellie Goulding and Fearne Cotton to name a few.
Today, almost 5 years on, Bloody Mary showcase a more mature side to their brand, and their wedding collection highlights a honed aesthetic that emanates romance, elegance and uniqueness. Launched around eight months ago, the wedding collection has been a great success so far. In true Bloody Mary style, the pieces shun the stereotypical, instead showcasing some seriously independent style, for the unique bride and groom, who do things their own way.
We’ve featured five of our favourites from the Bloody Mary Metal wedding collection below, but be warned, you’ll want them all…
Be still our beating hearts! Bryluen is Cornish for ‘rose’ and is the perfect name for this pretty, oversized pear shaped Morganite treasure in striking rose gold.
Sowenna is so sparkly we can hardly tear our eyes away! Cornish for ‘success’, Sowenna’s meaning is just as stunning as her looks. Sowenna can be ordered in a range of metals with a variety of stones. Our favourite is the Mozambique Garnet for a pop of deep red.
Bloody Mary Metal have gotten a name for themselves in the industry for their beautiful use of black diamonds. Unique and stunning, the black diamond trend is definitely on the up, as more and more brides want to follow their hearts, rather than tradition.
Available in black sapphire or clear zircon, Oros has delicate split shoulders with lightly oxidized filigree detailing. This ring is bound to be a conversation starter! We love the rose gold version pictured here (all the heart eyes- can we get married all over again?).
A delicate little duo, Erebus is a fiery black opal with filigree detailing paired with a super cute chevron that frames the opal in style. Available in silver or gold, we love how the gold sets off the flecks of green in the opal, lighting her up. A definite must for the fiery romantics out there.
Once engaged, you’ll need to think about wedding bands, amongst a million other things, but fear not as Bloody Mary Metal have a wide range to choose from. Whether it’s a his and hers set, something contrasting yet complementary or a special wedding ring to set off your engagement beauty, the Bloody Mary team are sure to have something stylish in mind. From the classic Benesek to the chunky and masculine Arthek (Cornish for Bear in case Cheryl and Liam are reading), there really is a ring for every person (or every finger if you’re anything like us) Want. Them. All. Our favourite wedding band has to be the simply elegant Caja. Cornish for daisy, it’s a simple hammered and polished band, available in yellow, white or rose gold. Pure Cornish class.
Gone are the days of needing to find a metal to match your engagement band. Bloody Mary Metal embrace mixing your metals and stacking your rings. They create gorgeous personalised stack rings. Created in your choice of metal, they can be personalised with a name or perhaps your wedding date and stacked either with your wedding ring or independently. Mix it up, have fun and be unique is the motto of the Bloody Mary crew.
They pride themselves on being different, daring and injecting the wedding industry with a sense of fun and fashion. So if you’re not a solitaire type of girl, if you’re different and want your wedding jewellery to be as unique as you are, then you’re certainly in the right place!
The Bloody Mary Metal wedding collection has everything you could wish for. Whether soft and elegant, dramatic and bold, edgy and unique or simply stylish with a twist (black diamond here we come). And if you fancy the detailing of one but the stone of another or perhaps would love something created entirely just for you, get in touch with the talented team. They will be able to create something original and outstanding.
Whether it’s a blow-the-budget showstopper or a more modest, simple heart stealer, the BMM wedding collection has been created for the free-spirited bride, and the wild at heart couple; promoting their bond and proudly wearing their heart on their hands.
