All Things Bright And Boho: Colourful Moroccan Inspired Wedding Shoot

All Things Bright And Boho: Colourful Moroccan Inspired Wedding Shoot

Today's blog post should essentially be considered a public service, as we are brightening up your gloomy Monday with this gorgeous Moroccan-inspired shoot from Fairweather Photography and Rock The Day Styling. A veritable oasis of vibrant colours, beautiful boho styling and carefree summer feelings, it’s full of lush ideas for couples who want a day that’s as laidback as they are but still packs a total punch. You are WELCOME.

As Stephanie explains, boho has never gone out of style with brides (and hopefully never will do!). It’s total ease and maximum impact means it keeps returning year after year. When she met with Laura to discuss shoot ideas, they both decided pretty quickly that it would be the one, coupled with a bright Moroccan-inspired colour palette. And we’re so glad they did – it’s such a gorge shoot! Bringing the sunshine to our screen, the team absolutely nailed the brief. I mean, they do often call Hertfordshire the Morocco of the UK…(anyone from the tourist board want to give me commission, here?)

Vintage Garden Weddings were the perfect props suppliers for this shoot, as they had everything that you could possibly need – from thick jewel-coloured throws to patterned cushions made specifically for the shoot. The amazing Grape and Fig, who we’re major fans of, supplied bountiful grazing platters for the shoot, full of luscious food to nibble at whilst the hours whiled away, which were then styled on low pallets by Rock The Day Styling so that everything was slightly off the floor. This grazing approach was a perfect fit for the relaxed vibes they were going for, and the platters were practically overflowing with juicy, handcurated food that could quite happily have been nibbled at all day. La Maison Guimauve purposely made some marshmallows in vibrant colours, which added to the decadence of the rich feast spread out.

And that macramé table plan in the secluded woodland - to die for! A simple backdrop that was super effective, Wonderland Invites' beautiful stationery was suspended from the macramé for an über-relaxed seating plan. The gorgeous suite, featuring beautifully scrawled calligraphy and hand-painted watercolour wreaths in vibrant colours, is a masterclass in boho chic without being twee. We especially love the menus, which proclaimed "Here is a tasty menu" - Pun of the day goes to Jenna!

The hippy and happy brides wore a beautiful off-the-shoulder dress from Rock The Frock Bridal, and gorgeous dresses from Lucy Can’t Dance. A bridal designer who specialises in coloured wedding dresses and geometric laces – and who has a tropical-themed studio – her designs were the ultimate choice for this shoot. The designs were all über flowy and comfortable without being shapeless, meaning boho brides could lounge and relax in them whilst still feeling kickass, and all featured distinctive laces and pops of colour. Three of the designs were comprised of two pieces, giving them the ultimate versatility. And the tassels!!

Knot Your Average Bride provided the make-up and hair skills for the shoot, keeping the models dewy, relaxed and natural. Neutral colour palettes and slightly darker, pinky-toned lip colour ensured the brides were positively glowing without clashing with any of the styling – just super effortless. Paired with PS With Love hairpieces and a silky Sash + Veil veil (it's kind of in the name...), the looks were total boho glamour. Rustic without being twee, elegant without being stuffy. Totally ideal!

They couldn’t have imagined a better backdrop than South Farm’s very own onsite gypsy caravans, as they nailed the dreamy bohemian look, as well as providing pops of bold colour. Stock Florist continued this into the surroundings, placing bright-headed blooms into the foliage arch, trailing flowers around the handrails and suspending stems alongside ribbons to create a backdrop that fluttered in the breeze.
