Bright and Airy Botanical Wedding from Fox & Owl

Bright and Airy Botanical Wedding from Fox & Owl

Fox & Owl Wedding Photographers Conservatory Wedding

We’re over the moon to announce that the absolutely wonderful Fox & Owl are introduced to the And So To Wed team as one of our Partners. We could, of course, have spent a whole blog post introducing them in all of their glory, but since they tell their story through photos, we thought we’d tell their story through photos too. Which is why we were even more over the moon (in fact, we were practically over all the planets, the sun, and every other thing out there in the whole of space and time) when Fox & Owl sent us over the delectable wedding of Shawn and Jenny. Shawn and Jenny’s day had a sumptuous colour palette, and an enviable and effortless theme, but most of all it had the most wonderful family feel to it ever. With gorgeous grinning pageboys and flower girls who were simply loving life (and their dresses!) Shawn and Jenny’s day radiated love and laughter. And, as always, Chloé and Martyn captured every single moment perfectly.

The first thing to notice about Shawn and Jenny’s wedding is the incredible venue – this botanical beauty is courtesy of Wentworth Castle and Gardens. We adore the light, airy space of the conservatory, and the stunning details in every nook and cranny. It’s a gorgeous blank canvas with nothing too obnoxious that’ll distract in the back of your photos, whilst also being super detailed and ornate. It also serves everybody’s favourite instagram trend: botanicals. (On top of that, it serves every wedding planner’s dream: it’s licensed for ceremonies too!) We adore the white and green colour palette, which the couple built on brilliantly with accents of yellow. The flowers, by Haute Katurah, were a work of art. Utilising simple spring flowers had amazing results: Jenny drew inspiration from the days of daisy chains and buttercup bouquets, which remind her of the days her and Shawn spent growing up together. (Ok now our HEARTS are a pile of butter). Adding muted greens and gypsophilia into the mix made for a stunning floral scenario. On top of the bouquet, hair adornment, and table centrepieces, Haute Katurah worked her magic on a floral arch, from which test tube flowers were suspended, frozen in permanent beauty.

Jenny’s stunning wedding dress was a Wtoo number from Mia Sposa in Huddersfield, accented with sprigs of gypsophilia in her hair. In the evening she changed into an über gorgeous Honey-Pie boutique 50s tea dress with a gold glitter veiled bow from Crown and Glory, which looked amazing when she was dancing to the incredible Leeds City Stompers (spot Martyn there, who not only is an exceptionally talented photographer and one half of Fox & Owl but also a musician. Some have it all, hey?). Her shoes were from the eclectic and incredible Irregular Choice. Shawn’s tweed suit was perfectly accented by a yellow bow tie, pocket square, and a pair of brogues. The ring bearers all wore tan chinos and shirts, and were given the choice of a bowtie, tie, or braces to make sure they were happy and comfortable. They also all wore a coveted silver sheriff-style ‘ring bearer’ badge – which is an incredible idea! The flowergirls wore dresses from Monsoon, which they loved.

This wedding was truly full of stunning details. We adore the 1956 Chevrolet Bel Air Jenny travelled to the venue in (the colour of which is to absolutely die for); the knitted lookalike cake toppers, and the massive colouring in tablecloth for the children’s table. We also love the whimsical handlettered signs dotted around the venue, and all the handcrafted minutiae – ribbon wands, confetti cones and seating plans all made with love in family crafternoons.

Thanks so much to Chloé and Martyn at Fox & Owl for sending this shoot over, and thanks so much to Shawn and Jenny for having such an incredible and love-filled day! Natural, simple, pure joy - enough inspiration here to last a lifetime.
