Happy start to the week! Today we feature a shoot showcasing four different dresses, hair styles, and accessories. All beautifully styled with a traditional wedding cake, pretty stationery and set in a quaint English garden. Which is your favourite?

Inspired by her pretty cottage garden, Julieann designs and handcrafts each piece of bridal jewellery and every wedding headpiece herself in her studio set among the rolling Shropshire Hills. Her beautiful bridal accessories help wedding day dreams come true, make you look and feel fantastic as well as creating gorgeous gifts for the people you love. Based in Shropshire, her designs are shipped worldwide.

Country Girl at Heart Wedding Shoot

Many country brides-to-be choose to get married in their local parish church followed by a reception at their family home. This is often a beautiful farm, period house or pretty cottage, usually with glorious gardens too. With such wonderful memories of growing up in these amazing houses; playing in the gardens and grounds who can imagine somewhere more perfect for a bride who is a country girl at heart to celebrate her wedding?

Photographer Hannah Ray was raised in a pretty cottage with terracotta roof tiles. Her childhood home is part of a large farm with a fabulous Georgian house surrounded by a wonderful walled garden; all set in the breath taking rolling South Shropshire countryside. Along with the stables built of mellow brick, rustic barn doors surrounded by tumbling roses that filled the air with a heavenly scent, we had the perfect backdrop for our shoot.

Four very different bridal styles for the country bride were created around the Mori Lee dresses kindly supplied by Castle Brides.

Dress 1

Hair styled into soft tumbling barrel curls, with some loosely pinned half up, was dotted with pretty hair pins. The diamante sprays on these lovely lace pins echoed the delicate styling of the lace flutter sleeves and crystal straps of the Karlotta (style number 6883) gown.

Dress 2

A second more ‘Boho’ bridal look gave a relaxed feel and perfectly complimented the low back of the ‘Kiley’ (style number 8209) fitted lace sheath wedding dress. With hair worn down, the sweeping twirled curls were held in place with a statement rose pink mesh floral comb.

Dress 3

The pretty floral details on the ‘Karmella’ wedding dress linked in with the beautiful ‘Emily’ headpiece. The exquisite soft blush textured silk flowers of this embellished lace vine matched the edging of the long veil perfectly. With a sleek low chignon, the veil and headpiece simply slotted into the hairstyle creating an effortlessly elegant bridal look.

Dress 4

The fourth stunning gown (Katie/style number 8213) had a beaded high neck bodice and a soft English net skirt. To show this off to maximum effect hair was worn up as pinned curls. The delicate pearl and diamante sprays of the ‘Caroline’ Comb and ‘Mia’ Pin linked in with the chic swirling lace pattern and dainty pearl detailing of this beautiful wedding dress.

The Details

Statement earrings and bridal bracelets in a variety of designs were carefully selected by accessories designer Julieann Bird to match her stunning hair accessories and complete the styling.

The floral aspect of the shoot was reflected in the make-up used; an English Rose palette with natural smokey chocolate browns for the eyes. Make-up artist Helena chose a MAC lipstick in ‘Modesty’ which is one of her favourite colours for brides. Helena is professional makeup artist trained at The London College of Fashion with BA (Hons) in specialist makeup. Helena creates a professional makeup look that you will love, which will transform your confidence on your wedding day & enhance your wedding photos.

A classic posy bouquet of peonies in shades of blush pink and cream with delicate touches of Myrtle, designed by renowned florist Will Simmons, epitomised the beautiful surroundings. Will, who has two diplomas in floristry, has followed in the footsteps of his dad, who has been selling flowers for 28 years in Bridgnorth. Will has been at the helm of the family-run florists since August 2017 creating beautiful, fresh flower bouquets and arrangements for every occasion, need and loved one. Will has years of experience in floristry, including a year working at renowned florist McQueens in London, a favourite for five-star hotels and fashion houses.

The other bouquet, a country garden inspired trailing hand tie in summer seasonal flowers provided a romantic and ethereal feel.

A lace and roses, 4-tier white iced cake was created by cake designer Sharon Stinton. With cascading blush roses, lace elements, royal ice brush embroidery with silver rice dragees and finished with a blush rose and snow drop topper it looked stunning amongst the roses on the stable walls.

Cameo Creative Wedding Stationery’s handmade Bohemian and Baroque ranges are inspired by the extravagance and elegance of old, but combined with modern flair. These two designs perfectly reflected the grandeur of the surroundings but with the modern twist of today’s wedding.

Pretty floral china, crisp antique family linen and wedding guest names hand written onto bantam eggs from the farm completed the wedding shoot styling.
