Dobrila's Hen Celebrations
Hello lovely brides to be…
So I wanted to share with you the latest on my wedding…The all important Hen Parties.
I have had an absolutely fantastic time celebrating with so many wonderful ladies, ready to send me off into married life.
I decided to have two hen do’s, both organised by my amazing bridesmaids. As the bride you will already have 101 things whizzing around your head, so I would definitely recommend passing all the planning to one or all of your bridesmaids. It makes it more of a surprise for you and also allows the girls to be creative. The only area I played a part in is choosing the location and the activities I would like to do, the rest was left to the girls.
One of my biggest tips I can give you when it comes to your hen do, is do what you want to do, but also try and arrange activities to cater for everyone, so that you can have as many of your friends and family celebrating with you.
The first hen party was in Newcastle, we had a great day. I was picked up by the girls in a mini bus decorated in Hen Party décor including balloons, banners and lots of pinkness. We enjoyed a glass or two of fizz on our drive…I was adorned with a bridal veil, wand, L-plates, badges etc…but I loved the whole experience.
Our first stop was at “Escape Newcastle”. We had two teams in two different game rooms trying to escape in 60 minutes. It was really good fun, and a great way to start the celebrations. Unfortunately we didn’t succeed in escaping but I would recommend this activity for your hen do, its something everyone can get involved with, lots of fun, its close to the centre and not a bank buster.
Following the Escape Rooms, we moved on to Tiger Tiger in Newcastle where we continued the celebrations with a cocktail making master class. This I would 100% recommend, it was so much fun…our bar man had us playing games and making some great cocktails from the classic Cosmopolitan to Disarono sours, with a few shot relay races. There were also some nibbles on offer to keep us going, we had a great afternoon, nothing was rushed and we felt we were well look after.
In the evening, we had a lovely meal at the hotel and a few drinks, before we headed to the Diamond Club to see the Dream Boys. This truly is a fun night with the girls, although it may not be everyones cup of tea. We all thoroughly enjoyed it, there were numerous hen parties at the show as well as birthday parties. The MC drag queens are amazing and along with the boys they all got everyone involved.
We ended the night dancing away in a club with great music and a fantastic party atmosphere, playing some more fun hen party games. Newcastle definitely delivered a brilliant hen weekend.
My 2nd hen party was in Leeds, a few weeks prior to us flying out to Croatia for the big day. I was extremely excited and ready to start the celebrations again. I decided to have my hair and make up done professionally, as a treat...I loved having this done, as it allowed me to start the day being pampered and meant I didn't have to touch up my make up all day or night.
We arrived at All Bar One in Leeds city centre for another cocktail master class, again this was a really fun day...the cocktails are delicious and it gets everyone in the party mood.
We then moved on to a lovely Italian restaurant Bibi's for a meal and a few more drinks. This was a lovely idea as it allowed us all to sit down, have a break and catch up over a delicious meal. We also had fun playing a few more hen party games.
The party continued into the night, with another trip to the dream boys, a limousine ride through Leeds city centre and ended with drinks, dancing and general merriment in Revolution until the early hours of the morning.
My bridesmaids truly outdid them selves, they thought of everything from t-shirts and sashes, to bridal games, tiara's, wands and goody bags for all the hens.
I couldn't have asked for a better send off celebrating with all my favourite ladies into married life.
Its not long now before we fly off to Croatia and our big day is here, I look forward to telling you all about it next time.
