Happy Friday! Whoop the weekend is so close that we can taste it. It tastes like Gin.
Aphrodite is calling today as we feature a beautiful Grecian inspired wedding photo shoot organised by Mary-Ann from Thomasina Bride. The concept is simply stunning and one to pin onto your wedding Pinterest board. So as we hit the summer vibes going into the weekend, let’s go Greek…
The Inspiration - by Mary-Ann.
My inspiration for this shoot was the organic feel of the accessories themselves. This range which is primarily gold, (I’m smitten with rose gold at the moment) also heavily features leaves and flowers. These led me to think of laurel crowns and the Grecian goddess theme soon followed.
When contacting and working with the other suppliers involved in the shoot, I felt the definition of ‘elysian’ seemed to perfectly capture how this shoot was working out. I loved working with such beautifully creative and inspirational group of women, and love the gallery of images we made, I hope you enjoy them too¬
"adjective. Beautiful or creative; divinely inspired; peaceful and perfect."
A note from the Photographer - Sarah, Nellie Photography
“Grecian elegance is definitely my favourite style when it comes to weddings.
I love the beautiful details and pretty elements, but it’s the simple green and white palette that creates a dream shot.
This shoot is very much an example of how to incorporate the stunning style of a Santorini setting – with a barefoot bride, gowns fit for a Grecian Goddess and a dreamy tablescape filled with white details, copper accents and fresh foliage.
Shottle Hall delivered the perfect backdrop, providing trailing walls of greenery and original walls adorned with a beautiful colour palette.
Keeping the makeup fresh faced and glowing teamed with the soft relaxed hair styling, adding chains, braids, sparkles and vines meant our brides looking effortlessly beautiful.”

The Florals and Styling
The abundance of wild, free-flowing foliage creates a lush and organic feel. The wild bouquet complementing the table runner and chair backs adding a rustic Greek taverna theme. The fruit detail injects colour into the tablescape and reflects on the decadent feast of the ancient Greeks. The fabrics and ribbons add to this effect too with draping effects giving texture and colour to the table.
Pops of metallics in the cutlery and candle holders mirror the stunning accessories worn by the brides for the lux, Grecian goddess look.
The stationery by With Love Stationery ties all the concept together with a simple olive branch graphic and beautifully combined with a calligraphy font. The design is simple and elegant with no fuss needed as it sits beautifully within all the decor and styling surrounding it.
Let’s just take a look at the texture of that wall and floor, oh and the mirror and the chair and the urn and the pedestal - Yes we love it all! A shabby, rustic setting with those opulent interior decor touches.
Makeup and Accessories
The fresh natural styling of the wedding hair and makeup by Yvette Clark and Sidone McMullen is effortless, giving the beautiful models Rhean and Rosie an ethereal look. We adore the bride's gold hair vine weaving through the intricately braided hair adding a showstopper look to the Grecian style. The Greek goddesses really knew how to rock a good hairdo!
