Making romantic dreams come true

Making romantic dreams come true

Every bride dreams of that perfect wedding day long before she meets her future husband to be! Let France make those dreams come true!

We know that the perfect wedding in the UK can cost £30,000 plus and many young couples just cannot afford this amount. Getting married in France can make your wedding dream come true. The fine dining, scenery, good champagne and of course that je ne sais quoi all at a budget that is very affordable. With the strength of other currencies against the euro it is easily achieved with even a modest budget.

There is no country to compete with France for its all round appeal for the bride and groom to be. It is the country for true romantics who want to enjoy the unsurpassed beauty of its cities, its glorious countryside and, of course, its world renowned coastline.

Every year more and more couples are choosing France as the perfect venue for the wedding celebration of their dreams.

Paris is fast becoming a real alternative to a central London celebration with the Eurostar able to transport the happy couple and their guests to the French capital in around two hours.

You can expect to pay around 25% less for a Parisian wedding rather than a London event, even with the added transportation costs.

What could be more romantic than having the wedding photographs with the Eiffel Tower as a backdrop or perhaps hire a river cruiser for the party and be guided through the historic heart of the city cruising along the river of lovers taking in all the fabulous sights of the City of Light.

A beautiful chateau with fairy tale towers, sunflowers, fields of lavender, all images we conjure up when we think of the French countryside. Rural France has all this and much more, the perfect place for a wedding celebration. Whether it is The Loire Valley, Dordogne or the French Alps the countryside abounds with magnificent wedding venues.

France boasts some of the finest grand buildings in the world and the choice for a beautiful wedding ceremony is boundless.

Many of the chateaux venues can offer accommodation for the couple and around fifty guests so that everybody can relax into the event without worrying about transportation or struggling with their French!

The venues usually offer a full menu but food can also be catered through a local traiteur who may be from a very good restaurant nearby and who specialise in wedding banquets.

A typical menu would offer a huge choice of fresh produce – beef, duck, poultry, beautiful seafood and fish, local cheeses and of course renowned patisserie: a French culinary delight.

Costs for 50 people staying three nights in a chateau start at around €15,000 (around£11,000). This includes accommodation and breakfast for up to 50 people for 3 nights, the ceremony, a five course meal on the wedding day and an evening reception. Furniture and flowers are included in the price and special requests can be arranged with your wedding planner.

France has one of the longest coastlines in Europe stretching from the English channel to the Italian border and offers an exciting opportunity for a ‘never to be forgotten’ seaside wedding. The Atlantic coastline from Biarritz to Normandy is a favourite wedding destination for the French themselves and with good reason. With its golden sands, magnificent adjacent pine forests and clear blue sea there is almost a Caribbean feel to the coast and it makes for a very special wedding day.

Another bonus is the number of first class hotels offering wonderful facilities and restaurant choices. You can even have the ceremony on the beach!

The ‘jewel in the crown’ for many people wishing to get married in France is, of course, the South of France and the Cote d’Azur. Famous as a haunt of celebrities and VIPs this bejewelled area is renowned for beautiful scenery and glamorous locations.

Venues here include old baronial castles, villas that overlook the ocean and even on board a yacht if you really want to be a celebrity for a day. Each of the venues can cater for all sizes of wedding from an intimate boutique style to a grand high end function with one hundred plus guests.

As we know, France is famous for its gastronomic delights, fine wines and, not forgetting, sparkling champagne. No wonder that it is fast becoming the overseas wedding venue of choice for more and more couples each year.

With Spain, Portugal, Switzerland and Italy being just a short flight away many of your guests will choose to make your celebrations part of an extended vacation and take in some of the astonishing diversity that Europe has to offer.

Unless you have ties to the France you might choose to have the civil ceremony back home and have the religious or secular blessing in France.

At Brides in France we have carefully designed our online resource to suit your all of your requirements and cover everything you need to know about getting married in France. We have a team of specially selected, English speaking, fully registered and qualified suppliers across France and the UK who take all of the hard work out of it, leaving you and your guests to have the time of your lives!
