Hello June

Hello June

Woah, did May really happen?! We’re still on a high from the Royal Wedding and loving our May sun-kissed faces. May has been a scorcher of a month for hot new wedding trends, tips and the summer vibes are already on. Here's what we've loved on the blog this month...

This month, as well as the Royal Wedding updates, we’ve given all you engaged readers a few wedding planning tip posts to help you on your merry wedding planning way.

We’ve looked at Sten parties and what the hype is all about when it comes to this new hen and stag party trend. A joint party, what do you think a yey or nay?

We then went back to basics with an introduction to wedding lingo. This blog post is worth pinning, printing and revising so you’re all prepared for your next meeting with your wedding suppliers. Wedding planning geek chic is so on trend!

We also talked about lighting and how it can make or break your wedding day. Typical Type blew us away with their feature lighting to add the wow factor to your wedding day.

Last but not least, earlier this week, we gave you some ideas to get from A to B on your wedding day with our blog on wedding transport. The conclusion being that there are loads of transport options to suit each budget and each style of wedding. However weird and wonderful you want to go, there’s a vehicle for you.

May also introduced us to more of our lovely wedding suppliers, including some new faces to the And so to Wed family.

We were shown around The Aisle at Ilkley. We swooned over the interior of this lovely bridal boutique and discovered all the stunning designer dresses on offer. Can we get married again please?

We met one of our new photographers on the directory, Neil from Eternal Images. If it’s one thing we love about our And so to Wed community, it’s getting to know the people and stories behind the business. We support the person behind the brand and it was lovely to get to know more about Neil and his journey behind Eternal Images. If you missed it, you can catch it here. His style of photography is beautiful in capturing those special moments on a wedding day whether they’re romantic, quirky or action shots, his portfolio shows them all!

We also had a virtual cuppa with Jen from My Pretties. Jen runs a wedding planning and styling business and filled us in on ventures and her pretty business.

Fox and Bear showed us the true magic of the Welsh landscape and whisked us away with Lucy and Dan on their very sweet and utterly loved up engagement shoot. The photos are stunning and we would like to wish Lucy and Dan all the best for their wedding day. We hope to see their wedding photos too, pretty please Fox and Bear!

There was so much inspiration this month from the Royal Wedding in particular. We expect to see a lot Elderflower and Lemon flavoured wedding cakes from now on as well as ultra long veils with sparkling tiaras and flower walls everywhere we turn. No one can deny the magic of the Markle, the whole world was hooked on that Saturday and mesmerised as a young couple wrapped in loved said their marriage vows. Royal smiles everywhere.

We featured two incredible luxury styled shoots over on the blog this month too. Both high-end, adorned with flowers and styled with opulence in mind. Fitting for the Royal Wedding month. The blossom tree trend was in full bloom with a shoot from Catherine Evans and then Davina Simone Weddings led us into a modern take on a decadent art deco styled shoot.
