Ode To Papillon
Claire Pettibone wedding dresses are the epitome of ethereal romance. Inspired by nature and featuring delicate lace with a beautiful light, pastel colour palette, Claire Pettibone designs should be appreciated in all their stunning beauty. We are therefore sharing our homage to the stunning Claire Pettibone with two editorial photo shoots set in the grounds of the picturesque Dorfold Hall.
The first features Claire Pettibone's Papillon wedding dress. Already a classic, this breathtaking bridal gown has romance in abundance with a statement back, beautiful lace detail and a palette of green and pink hues. The body for the dress is sumptuous ivory beaded floral embroidery, accented with colourful tinted butterfly appliques and sheer illusion back. Perfect for a bride who wants to ditch the traditional white dress, is going for a more boho look or simply wants to wear something truly different.
This dress definitely has the wow factor and today we're showing you how to make the most of this dress through your wedding photography. Teresa C Photography captures the detail of this dress perfectly, using natural light in both indoor and outdoor locations. The historic Dorfold Hall provides a wonderful backdrop to this bridal look but the Papillon perhaps looks most at home amongst the blossom and romantic whimsy of nature.
To complete the look, Joseph Massie Flowers uses beautiful spring inspired florals for the bouquet and hair. Opting for soft muted colours to give green centre stage, this shoot is ideal inspiration for those of you wanting to incorporate this years colour in your wedding day. Joseph Massie Flowers reflected this styling and colour palette in their fabulous table arrangements which provided the perfect setting for the cake. Confetti and Crumbs used the intricate design of Papillon by hand painting the embroidery from the back of the dress on to the front of the cake. The result is a stunningly pretty, jaw dropping, wonderfully whimsical three tier delight of a wedding cake!
When creating a bridal look, the hair and makeup by Ann Hutchinson ILM and Holly & Lucy, took inspiration from the boho feel of the dress along with the whimsical botanical elements to create a fresh dewy spring feel. It was important for the bridal hair to be up to allow the back of the dress to be seen. This was done allowing the hair to fall around the face keeping a soft, romantic look.
So without further ado, let us share this fabulous Claire Pettibone - Ode To Papillon.
Tomorrow we will be sharing the second of our Claire Pettibone editorials featuring the stunning Eden wedding dress. With golden rich floral vines embroidered on tulle that flow over the body. Sequins and lace embellishments richly complement the illusion bateau neckline and open keyhole back for a stunning effect. We can't wait to share it with you.
