Reece and Kelly
On 28th August 2015 Reece and Kelly tied the knot at Eastwood Hall, Nottingham. Here they share their fabulous wedding day with you.
I spent many evenings searching the Internet, reading blogs, and pinning on Pinterest. I wanted a country rose feel, natural pastel colours, vintage pearls and lace. Myself, my sisters, daughter and niece made some lovely jam jars decorated with lace, ribbon, hessian, buttons and bows, we filled them with stones and a couple of roses, then a chalkboard love heart with table numbers written on them. My name places were also mini chalkboard love hearts. We followed the chalkboard theme through with the invitations, menus and seating plan.
I spent the evening before my wedding at Eastwood Hall with mum and my sisters. I woke early on the morning of my wedding, we had breakfast in my room while starting to get ready. The hair and make up ladies arrived and started to work their magic. We were all really relaxed getting ready and sharing a glass of bubbly together. I can remember as I was getting into my dress it started to rain, I was a little upset but thought there’s nothing I can do, luckily it passed. While I was waiting to walk down the aisle I felt very nervous that everyone would be looking at me, the music started, my daughter, niece & nephew went first followed by my sisters (unfortunately my little boy Tye was poorly & didn’t walk down the aisle). When me & my Dad walked in Reece started to cry, I can remember my daughter Lola saying “Daddy crying” which made me smile.
After the service we all went outside for canapés & bucks fizz & photos. This was followed by a wedding breakfast and four amazing speeches from my dad, Reece and the two best men, Reece and Dale. Our evening guests arrived around 7pm, I had a first dance with my new hubby and a dance with my Dad, then we danced the night away with our family and friends until the early hours. We didn’t want the day to end, we loved every single minute and I wish we could do it all again.
I didn’t pay a lot of money for my dress, I had an idea I was going to customise it myself. I met Betty Timbo from Bespoke Vintage Castle at a wedding fayre and arranged for her to make my gorgeous sparkly belt. I also purchased beading to go on the back of my dress. This really transformed it and I had so many comments about it on the day.
Our advice to other couples would be to enjoy every minute, all the planning and the build up, the weeks before your wedding. I find lists really helped too, its really satisfying ticking things off. I know everyone says it but the day goes so fast, enjoy every single moment & try to take it all in.
