Rockabilly Bride

Rockabilly Bride

Classic vintage meets rockabilly chic - Betty Timbo, the talent behind Bespoke Vintage Castle, brought together a mix of fabulously talented suppliers to create this fantastically whimsical, tea party wedding shoot with a rockabilly twist. Enjoy!

'I decided to host a shoot based on the 1950s era focusing on the latter part of the period just before the 1960s, where Great Britain for the first time had disposable income, and Hollywood glamour took centre stage in weddings meaning they were full of beauty, accessories and prettiness.'

'Icons of the time were Elizabeth Taylor, Marilyn Monroe, Audrey Hepburn and Grace Kelly.'

'The 1950s by itself has been done before, it wasn't anything new to wedding-ville, however I wanted to change it slightly to balance the repetitive approach of this well photographed era.'

'We incorporated a soft woodsy magical tea party theme to it giving a sense of fun and softness, then brilliantly opposed it with our tattooed Bride. This is a metaphoric representation of the next generation that followed the 1950s- the 1960s. We rebelled as they did, after all why keep with the cliché' of tradition? The bridesmaids wore white/ ivory and the bride wore  a beautiful floral print tea dress.'
