The Blossom Barn - Bridal Shoot & Fair
Happy Monday! Summer weather has finally arrived and it has been a scorcher of a weekend for all things wedding. Today’s styled shoot from The Bridal Market's wedding fair at the Blossom Barn gives us a little inspo on how to rock a rustic wedding barn. Denim, glitter and a roaring West Yorkshire landscape - enough said, read on.
The Bridal Market prides itself on giving small, local indie wedding professionals a marketplace to showcase their goods and services to the everyday bride. The fair at the Blossom Barn was the first festival wedding fair run by the Bridal Market earlier this month and it proved a HUGE success with suppliers from every category in attendance.
The Blossom Barn is a 17th Century barn in an extremely enviable rural location in Hepworth, Holmfirth. Just a 10-minute picturesque drive from the village of Holmfirth and with parking for up to thirty cars. The barn itself has undergone a complete transformation in recent years and is a warm and inviting building, with brand new toilets, kitchen and cloakroom area.
There’s even clamping available at the venue to offer quirky and cool accommodation to your wedding guests. The lovely Nicola runs the weddings at this fab rural venue as well as running their other wedding venue Applewood Weddings over in Leeds. Get in touch with her to find out more about these outdoor wedding venues. The link is just here!
To show off the venue and the fab team of suppliers there at the wedding fair, The Bridal Market organised a styled shoot to be part of the day. The styling is edgy with glitter eye shadow to die for and a bride rocking the 'denim over your wedding dress' trend. Which we love by the way. If you love it too, check out Beespoke denim jackets on And so to Shop.
The shoot was set around The Blossom Barn, showing off the rural landscape and stone barn backdrop. Inside the barn, Jenny Milner Photography captured the romantic glow from Hand Maid's ‘Love’ letters and the ambient lighting of the fairy lights in the rest of the barn. The fairy lights against the stone are so pretty and give the romantic feel every bride wants on their wedding day. It’s all about the lighting in a wedding venue and fairy lights are a staple to get that lovely glow. The space in the barn is small but perfectly formed for 60 guests. However, the fields surrounding the venue are vast and can be set up with a tipi, yurt or marquee. Therefore, your wedding guest list can grow and grow - no need to worry.
A wild wedding bouquet from Daisy Hoban Florist with cascading eucalyptus and pretty pink roses is a perfect addition to the styling of the shoot. The florals soften the denim jacket, edgy, look and gives the shoot a more bridal, countryside feel.
The make-up by Bespoke Bridal Beauty adds all the sparkle every bride needs on her wedding day. Imagine the statement glitter eyeshadow dazzling in the fairy-lit barn as you walk down the aisle.
Decor from Hand Maid suits the rustic, rural barn venue like a match made in the fields. A rustic table plan and log slice styling add those little traditional barn details. Their light up LOVE letters take centre stage in the barn, a fab backdrop for your first dance.
It's amazing what can happen in a day - a show and a shoot all in one. There is no such thing as wedding inspiration overload, we welcome more suppliers, more creativity and more amazing ideas into the wonderful world of weddings.
