A truly unique Yorkshire venue
Last week we had the privilege of attending the Riverside Events Launch and what a wonderful occasion it was.
We arrived at around dusk and saw the beautiful property, Tanfield House, overlooking the river. The marquee was lit up and the lights from the small pavilion were reflecting in river. It was certainly a magical sight.
On being welcomed by our hosts we were taken on a tour of the property. From visiting lots of other wedding venues, Riverside immediately stood out due to its homely and personal feel. Being a bride and groom at this venue, you can make yourself fully at home, enjoying the bridal bedroom with ensuite bathroom, living area and morning room that overlooks the garden.
The ceremony room can accommodate 50 sit down guests or more for a cocktail reception. For larger weddings the marque and garden provide the perfect setting. Separate accommodation is also available in a modern flat that is adjoined to the property, perfect for the groom, family, bridesmaids or friends. Walking round the property, it is elegant and timeless in it's decor and has a real family feel.
Outside the property you can stroll through the riverside gardens with weeping willows and an abundance of natural beauty providing an ideal setting for a marquee event overlooking the river.
Tanfield House has been home to Neil and Allanah Bourne-Arton and their family for many years and has accommodated numerous happy celebrations. The house retains the character and warmth of a family home, whilst retaining its sophistication and charm. The moment you step through the door they want you to feel that this is your house, that you feel at home and at ease, so you can visualise your day your way.
