Vintage Bridal Style - Part 1
A vintage inspired photo shoot organised by Mary-Ann Griffin of Thomasina Brides.
Blackbrook House was the perfect setting for this shoot. Faye was ever so welcoming on the day, laying on refreshments as well as some scrumptious cake - such a treat! We were given free run of the house and were even allowed access to their wonderful 'props' rooms which is an Aladdin's cave of treasure, I was in my element!
I had planned a vintage-style shoot to display my 1960s-inspired accessories, as well as some more sparkly ones to provide some of that 1920s glamour. Yvette of Sally Montague Hair Group, Belper, and Sidonie, Makeup Artist did a wonderful job of styling the models, capturing perfectly the 'looks' I hoped for. I also wanted a light, fresh, Spring time feel to the images, and Elena’s photographs achieve this and more! The light in these pictures is stunning.
The lovely Lizzie of Elizabeth Malcolm Bridalwear agreed to loan us some of her beautiful creations for the shoot. I fell in love with the 'Edith' dress, which is just perfect for the twenties look I was after...those sleeves! *swoon*. During a visit to her boutique prior to the shoot I had also caught sight of her stunning 'Valentina' dress, a gorgeous red bridal gown which just had to be included! I'm so glad it was, as when Eliza Alexandria put it on it looked as though it was made for her. It worked perfectly with my red rose fascinator.
The weather was less than ideal for us; poor Eliza froze when we briefly ventured outdoors. The rain soon brought us back inside, but it wasn't a calamity as we were spoilt for choice with places to shoot. Every inch of Blackbrook House is beautiful, a pleasure to wander around.
Enjoy being inspired.
Look out for Part 2 of this photo shoot coming to you next Friday!
