Hello there! I’m Charlotte and I’m a self-confessed wedding obsessive. I run my own Wedding Planning and Styling business Redamancy, and post wedding musings on my blog which recently won Highly Commended at the UK Blog Awards 2017.
My personal wedding journey started when I was 16 years old and attended the first wedding I was old enough to appreciate. It was styled to an amazing standard and everything was flawlessly executed. When gushing to the bride and groom about how tip-top their wedding was, they introduced me to their wedding planner. I was in awe, and in that moment I proclaimed “I’m going to be a wedding planner and stylist”. I spent the rest of my teens being told that there was no way that I was going to make it, and that I needed to start living in the real world. But I believed in my dream, so I did an Amy Winehouse and told them “no, no, no!” A law degree later (long story, even longer essay titles) and I sat back and evaluated my options for the future: become a lawyer and make everyone else happy, or become a wedding planner and make myself happy. From the intro paragraph it’s clear I chose to invest in myself, and it’s the best decision I ever made.
It’s been a crazy year stepping out into the wedding industry scene; being a brand ambassador for the one-and-only Pamella Dunn, having real clients book me (eeek) and styling inspiration shoots for the industry that 16-year-old me would have rushed to ‘pin’. And now I am over-the-moon to be writing for And So To Wed. I’ve been a huge fan of the blog since my humble beginnings and they’ve provided me with so much support that I am thrilled at the chance to give back.
