Hello, I’m Rachel – a languages graduate who dreams of living in California as a psychotherapist with too many dogs to count.

At 17 I vowed I would be going to university single because I wanted a career. At 24, I’m engaged and 7 years into a relationship. Before I got engaged, weddings had barely crossed my mind. A few months down the line and I’m starting to become a little obsessed with everyone else’s wedding. I’ve been stashing wedding magazines and creating secret Pinterest boards to my heart’s content, but as for my own plans? They’re totally vague at present, all I want is good food and lots of alcohol.

By day I’m a mental health nursing student. It’s exactly as stressful as it sounds but there are very few jobs that I’d rather be doing.

Being a nursing student means that I spend a good chunk of my time in a less than flattering white uniform, covered in coffee and pen marks. So when I’m not on the wards, I like to jazz it up a little. I’m a big believer that you can never be too overdressed!

And by night I write over on my blog No Space for Milk, a space where I write about all things mental health and wellbeing related.
